The powder is then heated, causing the glass particles to fuse together. The molten glass is then carefully poured into molds made of clay, and the bead's hole is made using a cassava leaf stem. The powder glass beads are then baked in an oven to perfection. This technique has been used by the Krobo people to make African beads for centuries. Some strands may not have raffia / straw at the top. Please inquire in advance if raffia is required.

Better Than Expected

The beads I purchased were available for a fraction of the price they’re sold in stores. I could not be happier with my purchase, and will definitely reorder from The Bead Chest. Not only does the quality of my purchase exceed my expectations, but they arrived promptly. Very satisfied!
