These authentic vintage blue Vaseline beads are rare both in their color and in their shape. Made from Bohemian Glass during the 1800's, beads such as these were likely faceted by hand for export to Africa. During the Golden Period of Glass Making the Glassworks in around Bohemia were world renowned for the quality and variety of glass objects that were made including chandeliers, glassware, and beads, and other pieces of art. Vaseline beads are most commonly found in red, yellow, and green and clear Vaseline beads such as these are exceedingly rare. This 31" strand consists of approximately 70 beads each measuring about 14mm across. Only a few strands available.
