Old Translucent Red Padre Beads

The age of these authentic antique padre beads is evident in their unique and imperfect character. Old padre beads are hard to by and translucent glass padres such as these in this unusual red color are among the rarer varieties to be found in Ethiopia. Likely of European provenance beads such as these were traded in East Africa. Each strands consists of approximately 100 beads on a raffia cord measuring 4-6mm wide by 9mm diameter. The large 3mm hole size makes them suited for larger stringing materials such as leather strips or other rustic material. Each strand is unique and may vary slightly from picture.
