36 inches Strand Length
Admire this unique strand of beads made from ancient glass pieces. Commonly referred to as Roman Glass, the material for these beads is derived from ancient cups, vases, and perfume containers that have sustained the travails of time. The material for these beads is found in Central Asia, in regions along the silk road where the ancient kingdoms of Sogdiana and Bactria once thrived. If you look carefully, you will see that these beads have a unique patina endowed by the mineral deposits where the glass lay buried. Each glass piece has been individually drilled and threaded to create a strand. No two strands are alike but you will receive a strand similar to that pictured. Total strand length is 36" including string (approximately 17 inches of beads). Truly something special to use in any jewelry piece. Limited supply! Note that while the material is said to be of old, possibly ancient origin, the precise age of the glass has not been independently verified.

Good condition, nice patina

These were quite nice. My pet peeve is the glass that is covered by a kind of unattractive papery substance and there were few that had that. Only a couple in two strings had holes where the wire would show . Most were in good condition with nice patina, with a good variety of colors. The thickness varies, and the size range is considerable.
