Antique Black Venetian Skunk Eye Beads

Old Trade beads such as these are as beautiful in design as they are exceptional in craftsmanship. Venetian glass beads were known for centuries as the highest quality and the workshops of Venice rose to prominence as the source for many of the iconic beads that are today associated with the African trade. This specific strand includes a nice mix of Black Eye beads that have a decidedly worn feel evidencing the long journey these beads have had. Each strand measures approximately 26" with individual beads measuring approximately 11mm in diameter. These special beads would be suitable for the collector, bead connoisseur, or discerning designer. Some beads may be cracked or chipped due to age.
