Old Vaseline beads in these color are exceedingly rare and hard to find. Beads such as these were likely made in Bohemia using a combination of glass molding followed by faceting. Bohemia was a center of glass cutting throughout the 19th century due to the abundance of streams that could be used to drive the grinding wheels. Vaseline beads were likely introduced towards the end of the 19th century and were produced in a variety of colors including yellow, green, red, and less often blue, clear, and amber. This particular strand includes a variety of different beads including red & blue multifaceted Vaseline beads, opaque blue Vaseline, Russian Blue Beads, and a variety of blue and black old wound European Trade Beads. Each bead measures approximately 9-14 x 11-17mm, with a hole size of approximately 2mm. You will receive one strand measuring approximately 30". There are around 67 beads on this strand.
