Step 1
When working with irregular sized beads, picking the loop size could be a challenge. To solve this dilemma, measure each side of the beads beading hole by using one of the nose plier's prongs. Make a mark which each lands on the nose plier and use the middle ground from this measurement.
Step 2
Working with uneven surfaces is an opportunity to depend on organic judgements, it is where you are able to make decisions based on balance. From the first step, place the wire where your determined loop size on the round nose plier.
Step 3
Using the length size of the bead, add 2-3 inches extra on both side of the bead for workable wire. Measurements with unique beads should be treated based on the bead itself. This way, it would provide ample estimated length to work with.
Step 4
Create a loop around the round nose plier by wrapping the wire around the prong, establish this loop by creating the first wire wrap and the "L-Shape".
The first loop and wire wrap should look as such.
Step 5
After the first loop and the first wire wrap, continue to wrap the short end of the wire on the long wire. Do this three times.
Step 6
From the last wire wrap point, bring the wire wrap back up by wrapping over the first set of wire wrap towards the loop.
Step 7
After wrapping upwards toward the loop, cut after wrapping the same amount of three.
On this type of bead, the wire wraps are based on the width of the beading holes, and the height of the bead. The strength of your wire wraps should be focused on supporting the beading holes because they are wide, the double wire wrap created a cushion as well as a support for the heavy glass bead from moving around. Movement on a heavy bead over time loosens its grip, by creating stability the wire wrap would prolong its wearability.
The double wire wrap should look like such. A set of wire wraps over a previous set of wire wraps.
Step 8
Place the wire on the round nose plier, make sure that it is on the same marker where the other loop was created. Wrap the wire around the plier and adjust the size and shape if it is necessary.
Step 9
With the same double wire wrap created from the other side of the bead, wrap the wire around three times downwards and back up again, three times. When doing this wire wrap be aware that there will be some resistance when doing so, make sure that you are not applying force.
When wrapping the double wire wrap it is better to hold the round nose pliers standing up, meaning that the two prongs are on top of each other while working. This setting would give the hands a smoother dexterity, creating an even wire wraps.
Step 10
After creating the double wire wrap, cut the excess wire as close as you can to the other wire wraps.
Flatten the excess wire stub with a curved flat nose pliers by pressing on the end of the stub. Apply a gentle pressure.
Step 11
Working with large beads that has special characters lets you develop your skills in jewelry making. You can also apply this to found objects that has a similar feeling to this one. We are always interested in seeing what you work with so send us your photographs or tag us in your social platforms.
Conclusion
Beads that has uneven and various structures takes on your ability to solve problems with these types of beads.
