Step 1
Remove the silk thread from the card, and tie a basic knot at the very end of the thread. This knot is meant to hold beads on temporarily and will be removed when the necklace is finished.
Step 2
String on the first couple of beads of your necklace.
Step 3
Leave about 1” of space on your thread, and then tie another knot to begin your necklace.
Step 4
String the first section of beads. You can knot in between each bead, or every couple of beads.
Step 5
Tie a knot to secure the beads on the thread. Use knotting tweezers or knotting pliers to make sure the knot sits snugly against the beads and there is no slack. I find it helpful to use my pliers to pinch the section of thread right on top of the bead with the tweezers and then secure the knot.
Step 6
Once your knot is correctly positioned, use the tweezers or pliers to tighten the knot and push it down and into place next to the bead.
Step 7
Continue this process until the necklace is the desired length.
Step 8
Add on your pendant or centerpiece.
Step 9
Bringing your necklace into a circle, pass back through the first section of beads.
Step 10
Tighten up the necklace to remove any slack, and then tie a knot.
Step 11
Continue passing back through any remaining beads until your pattern is complete. Two or three knots is usually enough to secure the necklace.
Step 12
Add a drop of glue to the last two or three knots on the necklace and allow to dry.
Step 13
Trim all of the remaining threads.
Step 14
Congratulations. You're done!
