Today, we are excited to step into the colorful realm of the jewelry designer behind @creationsbytoni. Toni Brundage's Instagram feed has captivated us for years with her with a truly signature earring design style and beautiful pearl-bead inspired designs. It's hard not to notice Toni's design work. With the Winter Design Season now in full swing, it's time to infuse your look, decor, and jewelry designs with chic and minimal vibes. Here are some of Toni's designs that embrace the deep hues and colors of the winter season.
How did you get into jewelry making? 💙
I was a stay-at-home mom of two looking for something to keep me busy while the kids were in school. I used the creative spirit inherited from my dad and began making jewelry as a hobby. I joined a couple of handmade jewelry groups on a mom site called Café’ Mom where I also begin selling my jewelry. At that time, I was doing a lot of custom orders. Once I started working full time and my individual sells increased, I begin selling on Etsy.
What kind of Jewelry pieces are your favorite to make? 🌻
My favorite pieces of jewelry to make are earrings and bangles. I love designing bold, colorful Afro Bohemian styles. My goal is to always design pieces that allow my customers to create a style that is YOU-niquely their own.
What types of Beads are your favorite to work with? ❄️
African sandcast and recycled beads, especially the fused recycled glass beads. I love the origin of how they are made and the vibrant colors. I also love working with bone and paper beads, pearls, turquoise and gemstone beads. I am a bead hoarder. My brain is always in, “Oh look, beads!” mode. If I see a sale, I’m going shopping.
Where can our followers purchase designs from you? 🌀
You can purchase my designs from www.creationsbytoni.etsy.com
You can also make purchases from my Instagram and Facebook fan page.
What is your biggest Jewelry Designing Achievement? ✨
Creations By Toni jewelry was published in the Winter 2016 and Summer 2016 issues of Stringing Magazine. Also, I had items published in the Winter 2017 issue of Stringing Magazine. I had no idea that my pieces were good enough to be chosen to appear in a magazine.
Who is a Jewelry Designer that inspires you? ❄️
I am inspired by beads. I know that sounds weird. I am inspired by the origin of the beads, their color, the meaning behind the bead and their uniqueness. I am inspired by handmade beads that are perfectly imperfect. However, if I had to choose one person, it would be Rina Burch. She was the first designer I met whose jewelry was handcrafted and no two pieces looked the same.#TheBeadChest 🧡Take a closer look at our new collection of Ashanti Kente Cloths 💙Learn more about our Vintage Japanese Pearl Beads 🌊
