Vaseline beads are glass beads that come from West Africa, and were made beginning in the early 1900's by skilled Czech bead-makers. These hard-to-find glass bicone beads are initially formed in hand-held molds, and then faceted by hand. Although Vaseline beads come from and are used in Africa, they were manufactured in Bohemia and Czechoslovakia.
